Compeition Assay

I tested the affinity of the control and experimental peptide to the NS3 Helicase using Molecular Beacon Based Helicase Assay and Florescence Polarization Assay.  Both of the Peptides had the same affinity which was measured by inhibition.  I decided to see if they both bind in the same spot on the NS3 Helicase.  If they both bind in the same spot, they would compete for that spot.  So, adding a mixture of half of the control and half of the experimental peptide would have the same affinity as adding a full amount of the experimental peptide or the control peptide.  The affinity of half and half was the same as a full amount of either the experimental and control peptide.  So, they both bind in the same spot
